The article discusses the question of whether Lezghin folk proverbs and sayings should be considered the ob-ject of phraseology. The question is raised about the specific features of the phraseological unit, which is characterized by a whole complex of distinctive features: stability, steadiness of the component composition, imagery, expressiveness and semantic integrity. The purpose of our article is to determine the belonging of folk proverbs and sayings to the phraseological composition of the language, to identify the general and the particular between these categories.
