The article deals with oral folk stories, front-line letters and eyewitness recollections of the Great Patriotic war. Their themes, stylistic features, and visual and expressive means are analyzed. The characteristic feature of all these works is the pathos of military and labor feats, the heroism and courage of the peoples of Dagestan at the front and behind the enemy lines. A special place is given to the theme of friendship, brotherhood and unity of peoples united against the treacherous enemy – fascism.
